Marion Law Enforcement Memorial

The Law Enforcement Memorial is a lasting tribute to the members of law enforcement who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The memorial is comprised of black and grey granite. The etching of James Fitsko, officer from Marion Police Department was hand etched on the middle feature. On the left wing the Fraternal Order of Police Star was engraved and the right wing, the names of their fallen brothers are engraved.

The $20,000.00 memorial was paid by monies raised by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #24. The land was graciously donated by Marion Cemetery Association.

The dedication of the memorial was held on May 17, 2001 and more than 200 family, friends and community members were in attendance. The keynote speaker was Gilbert Gallegos, the National President of the Fraternal Order of Police from New Mexico. Mayor Jack Kellogg and County Commissioner Andy Applefeller, a retired OSHP also offered remarks.
