Why your donation is important
Marion Cemetery is a 501c(13) Non-Profit Organization and we are privately owned by the lot owners, and heirs of those buried here.
We are dedicated to the preservation and beautification of the largest historic cemetery in Marion County.
Monies generated from sales go towards salaries, insurance, utilities, equipment, mowing and trimming, etc. And by state law, 10% of lots, crypts and niche sales must be deposited into the perpetual care fund.
Like many other non-profit organizations, general fund monies pay for necessities, however there are never extra funds for projects.
The cemetery depends on the much needed donations, in any form, to ensure the continuing of future projects such as:
- Fencing down the boulevard and North and East ends
- Handicap Accessible office entrance
- Road Repair
- Straightening of markers and monuments
- Tree Removal and Planting
- Purchasing of cemetery software
- Surveying wooded area for future sections
In order to make a difference, we rely on the support of generous individuals and business to complete our future projects.
